Heated Floor Options
Floor Heating Cable – The two most popular floor heating cable systems are In-Slab heating systems and ComfortTile. Though both of these floor heating systems are industry leaders, they also feature some significant differences.
Because In-Slab heat cable is designed for installations in concrete slabs (typically for basement and ground level floors), it is thicker than the ComfortTile cable and designed to withstand the stress of heavy concrete pours. The heat cable is secured to remesh and then the concrete slab is then poured.
The In-Slab floor heating system consists of a twin conductor, single point connection heat cable. The resistance-heating element is insulated with ETFE with a high dielectric strength. A metallic sheath is provided to give additional mechanical strength and provide a ground path. A final outer jacket of polyolefin is provided for corrosion protection and durability.
The convenient design, versatility and rugged construction of the electric radiant heat cable make it a
favorite among homeowners and commercial construction professionals alike.
ComfortTile is our most popular floor heating solution and a well-established industry leader. The floor heating cable is rugged, yet thin, and is available on spools or pre-spaced in mats with an adhesive backing. Because the cable is only about 1/8 inch in diameter it requires very little floor buildup. It is ideal for heating tile and stone floors, but is also commonly used to heat laminate flooring as well.
ComfortTile floor heating cable can also be used with the Prodeso® Membrane and HeatShield Insulation Panel systems. The renowned cable is the go-to cable for the majority of floor heating applications.
Low-voltage polymer heating elements are also available as well as paper-thin FilmHeat and RetroHeat. These systems are effective for heating hardwood and laminate floors. Another proven solution for heating engineered wood and other floating floors is FoilHeat. This system features fluoropolymer insulated heating cables that are sandwiched between two layers of specially reinforced aluminum foil.
In addition to the most trusted floor heating elements in the industry, Warmzone also provides the latest in thermostats and sensors. For more information call and talk to an expert today at 888.488.9276.
